New Operator Forklift Training Course

This New Operator Certification is designed for individuals with very little or no experience operating material handling equipment. Our comprehensive program explores the theoretical and practical components involved with operating different classes of lift trucks with the emphasis on how to do so…safely! Our small class size ensures sufficient practice time on the equipment with professional instruction from one of our certified trainers.

Course Description: 8-Hour Theory Class Followed by Practical Training

  • Introduction
  • Relevant Provincial & Federal Legislation
  • Basic Principles of Lift Truck Stability
  • Pre-Operational Inspection
  • Review Safe Operating Procedures
  • Pedestrian Safety
  • Fuel Source (Propane and Battery)
  • Written Test

Practical Evaluation

  • Pre-Operational Check
  • Start-up & Shutdown
  • General operational skills evaluation based on turning (pivot point), driving forward/reverse, driving with obstructed view and pedestrian awareness.
  • Load Handling. Securing Loads and Proper Placement.
  • Fuel Source (Battery/Propane)

Length of practical training can vary depending on the experience level of the individual and the number of lift truck certifications required.
*A wallet card and wall certificate will be issued upon successful completion of this program

Forklift Refresher Training Course

This certificate program is designed for experienced lift truck operators who require a renewal of their certification to comply with guidelines set by the Canadian Standards Association. This certification is renewable every 3 years.

Course Description: 4-Hour Theory Class Followed by Practical Training

Train-the-Trainer Forklift Training Course

This three-day course is designed for a person, selected by your company, to be trained on how to certify forklift operators within your own facility. The ideal candidate is someone with presentation experience and is currently a certified operator. Our program will provide that individual with the knowledge and hands-on practical experience required to effectively present the program to your operators. This program can either be held on-site at your location, or at one of our Yale Training Centeres.
