This one-day program is designed to provide a Supervisor with the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to effectively monitor forklift operators as well as conduct eighteen month Mid-Term Evaluations internally as required by New CSA Standard B-335-04. Class size is limited to eight participants to allow for adequate interaction time.
Theory: Approximately 4 hours

- Review Legislative Requirements (OHSA, Reg. 851, Bill C-45 update, MOL Guidelines)
- Pedestrian Awareness
- Basic Principles: Lift Truck Design/Operation (Stability Principles)
- Parts the Truck / Pre-Shift Operation (specific to customer equipment)
- Safe Operating Procedures
- Fuel Source (Battery and Propane as required)
- General Safety Rules
- Summary (Written Test)
Practical: Time may vary due to company-specific requirements
- On-Floor Presentations will be conducted on each class/type of equipment
- Students will be taught what to look for when conducting evaluations (eg. Bad Habits, Incorrect procedures etc.) specific to each class/type of truck
- Effective use of practical test sheets for each class/type of truck
